I returned to Wā Ora to take the role of DP at the High School in 2023 after teaching in the beautiful Bay of Plenty for 6 years at Pāpāmoa College. I am passionate about EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) and believe the most profound learning comes from going beyond the four walls of the classroom and doing stuff that is real. My teaching subject is English and I feel strongly that we need to set up our students to be great communicators in all aspects of their lives.
I have two children that are beginning to make their way in the real world. My daughter is studying Sociology and Pacific Studies, and my son is planning to study Performing Arts. I fill my spare time with adventures including bike packing, tramping, camping, skiing and taking my dog to the beach.
I value the way Montessori Education addresses the needs of the whole child and endeavours to engage the learner with meaningful contexts and choices.
