Kia ora, and 你好(nĭ hăo)! I am Wenlu. I was a secondary teacher trained in China with a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Linguistics. I am also holding an MSc in Development Studies from UCL. I worked in public service for many years before returning to my true calling in teaching with a play-based English language learning workshop for preschoolers in China, and this ultimately led me to New Zealand for my studies in early childhood education. After obtaining my Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education), I have had the privilege of working with young children for the past four years. In my role as a teacher, I see myself as a listener, an observer, a documentation recorder, a resource of language and ideas, a facilitator of learning, and a co-constructor of knowledge and meaning. During my free time, I indulge in my love for reading, sketching, hiking, photography, and classical music. I live in Lower Hutt with my wife and our daughter.
